The Role

Building relationships is at the heart of what we do. So it’s no surprise we’re so passionate about our people. After all, they’re just as passionate about the communities we serve.

We’re committed to becoming one of the most efficient providers of affordable housing and community investment services. And while we exist to put customers first, create opportunity and enthuse our customers, we also strive to create an ambitious, inclusive place to work, where we recognise that every single one of us makes a difference.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Care & Support Worker to join our team in Lord Street, Wolverhampton. The service supports a wide range of client groups primarily people with physical disabilities and visual impairments but also includes a wide range of customers with acquired brain injury, asperger’s, learning disabilities and mental health needs. All support is delivered in an enabling way, following agreed re-ablement plans in order to promote independence and maximise individual skills.

Staff will support customers with all aspects of daily living in line with established care and re-ablement plans in order to ensure that each customer is enabled to lead as independent a life as possible so that their ability to exercise choice and achieve personal fulfillment is maximised.  The right of the customer to make his/her own decisions and choices and to incur calculated risks must be respected and supported.

You may be required to work in other locations across Wolverhampton. You will be required to work a varied shift pattern. You may be required to work with customers who have Guide or Support Dogs.

All successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure Barring Service check and costs will be met by Midland Heart.

If you are a disabled candidate and require a hard copy pack or a different format, for example large print, please contact the HR department on 0845 850 1020 ext 6555.

Please do read the role profile before you begin your application. CVs will not be considered, so please complete the application form in full.

Midland Heart aspires to be a digital organisation that minimises its impact on the environment. Wherever possible, we will conduct transactions digitally rather than by paper and ask that current and future employees share this commitment. Where required, we will support colleagues to be digitally enabled.
